Welcome to Stories Beach House — a renovated five-bedroom beachfront home overlooking the Strait of Georgia. Step inside and the ocean greets you through panoramic windows, with the Coast Mountains rising behind the water.
Stories Beach is right across the road — a sandy stretch at low tide that's perfect for exploring with the kids, spotting shore birds, and soaking in the quiet. In summer, keep your eyes on the water for orcas passing through the strait.
This is a home built for gathering. The open-plan main level connects the kitchen, dining table (seats 8), and living room — all facing the ocean. Five bedrooms across two levels sleep up to 10. We hope you feel completely at home.
Your check-in details — including entry instructions — are provided in your booking confirmation message. Check your platform chat (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.) or email for everything you need to get in.
- No smoking indoors. If you smoke outside, please do not throw cigarette butts on the property or in the toilet/sink. Evidence of indoor smoking is subject to a $250 fee.
- Quiet hours: 9 PM – 9 AM. Please be respectful of our quiet neighbourhood. NoiseAware monitors indoor sound levels during quiet hours — particularly noise outdoors — and will notify us if thresholds are exceeded.
- Maximum 10 guests. The septic system accommodates up to 10 adults. Please be mindful of water consumption if your group is at maximum capacity.
- No candles. Lit candles are a fire risk and are not permitted anywhere in the home.
- No pets unless specifically arranged with the host prior to booking. A pet fee may apply.
- No parties or events. Evidence of such could result in booking cancellation and a fee.
- Respect neighbour privacy. Please do not enter the neighbour's yard to the south.
- Do not leave garbage unattended. Bag all garbage and place it in the bins outside promptly.
Garbage & Recycling
Bag all garbage and place it in the bins outside. Close the lids to prevent wildlife from getting in.
Compost and garbage can go in the same bag — our waste company does not yet separate compost. Place recycling in a separate bag; our cleaners will take it to the recycling depot.
Do not throw loose garbage or recycling directly in the bins, as this will result in extra cleaning time and fees.
Climate Control
The home is heated by a forced-air furnace. The main thermostat is located in the hallway near the laundry machines on the upper level. Adjust it freely to stay comfortable.
There is no air conditioning — portable fans are available for warm days.
The gas fireplace in the living room has its own thermostat on the wall to the right of the fireplace, near the nautilus clock. Please ensure it is turned off every time you leave the home.
Kitchen
Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for group meals. Full-size appliances including oven, 4-burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer.
Drip coffee maker with ground coffee provided, electric kettle, toaster, blender, and baking sheets. Cooking basics stocked: oil, salt, and spices.
Island with bar seating for casual dining. Dining table seats 8 with an ocean-view painting overhead.
This property uses a septic system. In the kitchen, do not pour oil, alcohol, or bleach down the drains. In the bathrooms, only flush toilet paper.
During a power outage, do not use the downstairs toilet. Contact us immediately if you experience an outage.
Laundry
Washer and dryer on the main level. Laundry detergent is provided.
Towels & Linens
Fresh linens and towels are provided for your stay. Extra pillows and blankets are available in the linen closet.
Please bring your own beach towels — they are not provided. Towels in the home are for indoor use only. Do not take them to the beach. Sand-damaged or stained towels may be subject to a replacement charge.
Entertainment
52" HDTV with Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ in the living room. Board games and a small reading library on the bookshelf beside the fireplace.
Room darkening shades in the bedrooms for sleeping in. A sound machine is provided in the upstairs king bedroom (closest to the road) for restful sleep.
Remote Work
Dedicated workspace beside the fireplace with WiFi running at 80 Mbps. A good spot to catch up on emails if you need to.
Deck & Outdoor Areas
The front deck has glass railings, an outdoor dining table with umbrella, and views across to Stories Beach and the Strait of Georgia. A great spot for morning coffee — Campbell River faces east, so you'll catch the sunrise over the ocean and mountains.
The spacious backyard has a garden area. Please note: the property is on the highway, so you will hear road sounds during the day. Evenings are quieter.
Parking
Free driveway parking for 2 vehicles, with additional street parking available. Please do not drive on the neighbour's lawn to the north — there is sensitive underground septic equipment near the property line. Do not park in front of neighbouring properties.
BBQ
Propane BBQ on the deck with utensils provided. Please ensure the BBQ is turned off completely when you're done and before leaving the home.
Accessibility
Two-level home with interior stairs between the upper and lower levels. Three bedrooms upstairs, two bedrooms downstairs. No elevator or step-free access between levels.
Both bathrooms have tub/shower combos with step-over tubs.
Safety Equipment
Smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher are installed throughout the home.
Security
Ring doorbell camera at the front door and an exterior camera on the side deck. Both are exterior-only with no audio recording. NoiseAware monitors indoor sound levels during quiet hours — it measures decibels only, with no audio or video recording.
